pid_t fork(void);

Forks the current process.  Returns zero in the child process, and returns the PID of the child
in the parent process.

CAUTION: If the signal `SIGCHLD` is not ignored, child processes will become zombies on exit if
`wait` or `waitpid` is not issued by the parent for the child process.
