│ Let's make the difference between DAISY and none DAISY audiobooks clear │
|

│ once and for all... │

│ 1st, DAISY books are produced for people with reading disabilities and │
|
|
│ are none comercial (i.e. you can not buy them in the shops, you have to │
|
|
│ get them through your local library). │
|
|
│ │
|
|
│ 2nd, DAISY books when read include things such as the reader letting │
|
|
│ us know he/she's reading a blank page, quotation mark and so forth. │
|
|
│ │
|
|
│ 3rd, DAISY books are read by professional narrators and audiobooks are │
|
|
│ read by hired actors. │
|
|
│ │
|
|
│ Finally a quotation from "talboks- och punktskriftsbiblioteket" the │
|
|
│ producers of DAISY audiobooks in swedish: │

│ 2.1 The format type is always AUDIOBOOK. │

│ 2.2 Must be encoded using VBR. │
|

│ 3, DAISYBOOKS │
|
|
│ │
|
|
│ 3.1 The format type is always DAISY-AUDIOBOOK. │
|

│ │
|

│ 3.2 Original encoding must remain untouched (no reencoding allowed). │

│ 3.3 Must include working smil files in an archive, working smil files │
|
|
│ can be done in one of the following ways: │
|
|
│ │
|
|
│ [Option1] Include batch files for tracknames, must be able to │
|
|
│ rename daisy->release and release->daisy. │

│ [Option2] Patch the smil files to work with the release names. │
